Old Beams, Fresh Purpose
The roof sagged and the floor was bare earth. We repaired it with salvaged timber, lined the grain bays with wood fibre, and set a stone mill grinding heritage wheat where shoppers can watch.
- Challenge: a listed-look landmark too far gone for conventional repair quotes.
- Approach: phased restoration with farm labour, green oak frame repairs and breathable insulation.
- Outcome: certified grain storage, weekly milling and a farm shop open every Saturday.
